Looking for an Alternative Approach to Create a Life You Desire?
Make Lasting & Powerful Changes with Hypnotherapy!

Hypnotherapy is much like peeling away the layers of an onion. Positive change can happen quickly as the top layers are peeled away. To reveal the core of the issue, more work may be necessary. There are times change is desired yet will-power proves ineffective. This is not a sign of weakness. Rather, your conscious brain and subconscious are not in agreement. During hypnotherapy, we work with your subconscious mind so that it is working with you to achieve your goals.

    Some Facts of Hypnosis

    • Hypnotherapy is a naturally occurring state of mind. You have been hypnotized or in a trance-like state many times ngh certified hypnotherapist Philadelphia PAwithout even realizing it. So, if you are wondering if you can be hypnotized, the answer is yes, you already have been!
    • You are not controlled by the hypnotherapist. You are awake and aware and in total control the entire time. Hypnosis is a consensual process. You can reject or accept any suggestions as you see fit.
    • When in a hypnotic state, you are in a heightened state of awareness allowing access to your subconscious mind. We will utilize the language of the subconscious to create lasting change.
    • Hypnosis is not sleep. This misconception is due to the fact that often, although not necessary, a person in a hypnotic state appears so relaxed it seems like sleep. The difference is that in hypnosis, a person is able to think clearly and follow directions.

    Conscious vs. Subconscious Mind

What is the difference between the conscious and subconscious mind? The conscious brain is where rational, logical, and analytical thinking occurs. You can think of it as the tip of the iceberg. This brain is also the guard of your belief systems. While our beliefs are held in the subconscious, the conscious brain goes to work to support them, even when they are in contradiction to what you truly want to create in your life.

The subconscious brain is the part of the iceberg under water and out of sight, below the conscious awareness. This is where all of your experiences are recorded. Anything you’ve ever touched, tasted, or experienced throughout your life is stored in your subconscious. It is also where your beliefs, perceptions, habits, emotions, and imagination are held. It is the part of your brain that keeps your body in homeostasis through bodily functions such as breathing, heart rhythm, digestion and more. It also keeps your mind in homeostasis by keeping your thoughts, beliefs, and actions aligned with what you have said and done in the past.

Hypnotherapy can work when other attempts at creating change have been ineffective. During hypnosis, the conscious brain is relaxed to gain access to the power of the subconscious. As positive, valuable ideas are presented to and accepted by the subconscious, new beliefs and attitudes are created leading to a change in behaviors and habits that are in alignment with identified goals. Together, we partner together for healing, personal development, and goal attainment.

    Hypnotic Trance

What can you expect to experience in a hypnotic trance? Many people report feeling relaxed as they emerge from hypnosis Imagine what Hypnotherapy can do for youas though they were having a refreshing nap. Often people experience pleasant feelings and sensations including loose and relaxed muscles. Feelings of warmth, tingling, heaviness, or floating like sensations have been reported. When hypnotized, the sense of time is altered and the ability to visualize is often sharpened. Since the conscious brain is relaxed and may drift off while receiving hypnotherapy, one may not recall everything said during session somewhat like not recalling every scene of a movie. Every person’s experience is unique.

What is Hypnosis Used to Treat?

Many people have heard of hypnosis used for smoking cessation and weight loss. In addition to this, hypnotherapy can be used to overcome roadblocks from past experiences, healing fears and anxieties, and improving confidence and motivation. Anywhere in life where limiting beliefs are creating a negative impact, hypnotherapy can be used to transform limiting beliefs to those that are empowering.
